POP3 & SMTP configuration settings for Outlook or Hotmail

First of all turn on POP for your Outlook or Hotmail account in case it supports POP3 and unable to support IMAP or Exchange ActiveSync.

In your email application Use the following settings:

Click the Settings icon, and then click Options.

Click on Connect devices and apps with POP, under Managing your account.

Select Enable, under POP.

And then click on Save.

Then use the following settings in your email application or email client.

For Incoming (POP3) Server:

In the Server address field type in pop-mail.outlook.com

In the Port field type in 995

In the Encrypted Connection mention SSL

For Outgoing (SMTP) Server:

In the Server address field type in smtp-mail.outlook.com

In the Port field type in 25 (if 25 is blocked, use 587)

In the Authentication field mention Yes

In the Encrypted Connection mention TLS

Enter your email address in User Name field.

Enter your password in Password field.

If you want to keep a copy of emails in your Outlook.com or Hotmail.com inbox after it’s downloaded to your email app, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server option.
